EHS Caregiver/Teacher

Burke County Public Schools (BCPS) is a rural, dynamic, and diverse school district dedicated to fostering academic excellence, equity, and opportunity for all students. With a strong commitment to education, we are seeking a forward-thinking, compassionate, and experienced individual to join our Early Head Start team as a Caregiver/Teacher. The caregiver/teacher will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

• Have a clear understanding of the cognitive, social, emotional and physical developmental patterns of children from birth - 3 years of age
• Have a clear understanding of developmentally appropriate practice as it relates to the areas of room arrangement, curriculum planning and lesson planning
• Ability to relate well to young children and their parents
• Demonstrate the maturity and good judgment needed in situations involving parents, children and staff
• Patience, flexibility, and ability to adapt
• Loyalty to the Early Head Start Program and the Burke County Public Schools
• An understanding of the need for confidentiality related to program and family concerns
• Can meet the demands of caring for children

Reports to: Education Coordinator Pay Range: $29,888-$44,369
